Johnny Vander Meer


Johnny Vander Meer came kicking and screaming into life in 1914, making his entrance on the 2nd of November. His country of birth is the USA and grew up in Prospect Park. He went by the nickname of The Dutch Master,Double No-Hit. He always knew he would make it, and burst into the big leagues on Thursday 22nd April 1937. Johnny was out of baseball by 7th May 1951 - the date of his final game. He passed away on 6th October 1997.
